The AAUW Educational Foundation

Karen Graves Richardson, Educational Foundation Vice-President. The AAUW Educational Foundation is the world's largest source of funding exclusively for graduate women. It supports aspiring scholars around the globe, teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages in their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are underrepresented. The Foundation funds Groundbreaking Research, Fellowships and Grants, Special Awards, Vital Community Action Projects and Symposia, Roundtables, and Forums.

How to Contribute

Since 1959, the Educational Foundation has provided support to advance education, research, and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive societal change. Because the Educational Foundation is a 501(c) (3) charity, all gifts are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The Educational Foundation offers many tax-deductible contribution options . Community Action Grant - College Park Branch The AAUW Educational Foundation awarded College Park a $10,000, 2006-2008 Community Actio Grant. The funds enable the branch and its partners to develop a metoring program called "GEMS" (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) for seventh and eighth grade girls attending public school in Prince Georges County. It includes links with instructions for completing the contributions report form, fundraising suggestions, and other information.

AAUW's LAF - Multifacted The Legal Advocacy Fund (LAF) does more than provide funding and support for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in a college or university setting. Since its founding in 1881, LAF has contributed to 100 cases pending in state and federal courts. Read More to learn how LAF is active in other ways.

Public Policy AAUW is strictly non-partisan, but it does have an attitude. The public policy issues are set with member feedback, including an every member survey. Maryland AAUW has adopted a Public Policy Program for 2005-2007. For additional information, contact Elaine Franz.
